When I came to see Sarah I was extremely fatigued sleeping up to 12 hours a day, was always sick with the flu or gastro, was very anxious all the time and had some bad habits I needed to break. Being a stay at home mum with a toddler, I just didn’t have the stamina, energy or patience to keep up with my energetic little boy. It was really taking a toll on me, my well being and being the upbeat mum I wanted to be for my son. These symptoms had been going on for quite some time but I kept making excuses for myself like I have always been a sleepy person since I can remember, a child takes a lot of energy out of you, and I was just getting sick because I had a toddler who brought home all the germs. This is also what everyone else around me told me…not to worry about it!
Deep down, I knew something else was going on. We wanted another baby and I could feel in my gut that the way I was currently, both my body and mentally, I wasn’t prepared nor likely able to carry a child. And that’s when I decided to see Sarah.
Initially Sarah made some small changes to my diet, which I saw, the benefits from right away in my digestion and energy levels. While seeing Sarah and getting further blood analysis from my doctor, I found out I had hashimotos, an autoimmune disease of the thyroid, which explained a lot of my symptoms and why I felt the way I did. Sarah then made some more significant changes to my diet to aide in putting my body into remission from my autoimmune disease. The diet was very restrictive initially but now has become a part of my daily life and routine that I don’t know any different. Since making these changes to my diet, my thyroid went back to normal and I’ve avoided having to go on any medication. I have my energy back and actually don’t nap in the day and I have not been sick now in months.
Not only did Sarah focus on what I was putting in my body, but we also worked on relaxation techniques and positive sleeping routines. Thanks to these initiatives, I am no longer anxious or upset by little things that would have been the end of the world to me months ago. And I am proud to say that I fall asleep on my own (with no TV shows and headphones in!) by 930/10 each night and sleep through the night.
I have learnt so much about diet, lifestyle and how to take care of myself through Sarah. If I hadn’t seen Sarah I wouldn’t be where I am today – I feel happy, energized, refreshed and just overall great about myself. We wanted to have a baby and I am happy to confirm that I am now pregnant with my second child and confident that I can carry a healthy baby and also be a great mum to my current little boy.
I’d recommend Sarah to anyone who has any doubt about his or her health. You can never take your health for granted and it’s the best thing you can do for yourself now and in the future. Always trust your gut if you think something is wrong, and get it taken care of!
