I’ve been obsessed with gelatine gummies lately. I’d always liked the look of them on other people’s websites and instagram feeds but to be honest, I thought “too hard basket”….it couldn’t be further from the truth. These gut healing delicious snacks are the fastest and easiest treat to make and now that I’ve discovered this, I’m their biggest fan.
I particularly like this recipe because the lemon juice cuts through the sweetness of the berries and honey. Enjoy!
Ingredients
¾ cup lemon juice
1 cup frozen organic mixed berries
3 tablespoons honey (you can use less but may need to put a little more gelatine in, not much though)
¼ cup grass-fed gelatin
Place lemon juice and berries in a blender and blend on high until completely mixed. Pour into a saucepan.
Add the honey and gelatin and whisk together. You will have a thick paste. Turn the heat on low, and continue to whisk the mixture for 5-10 minutes, until it becomes thin and everything is incorporated. Take off the heat.
Pour into silicone molds or a small baking dish. Set in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to firm up. Press out of moulds or dish (if using dish, cut into desired size)

These sound lovely but how many would you recommend for children per day and when would be most effective to give them?
How should they be stored?

Hi Linda
There is no recommended dosage as such but sometimes I find if I consume too many I get a little constipated so perhaps you can gage it this way with your little ones? Generally any time is ok too but I would suggest using them as a snack rather than incorporating into a meal.
Hope this helps. 🙂 xx
